Policing Diploma Level 3

An emergency worker with a patient This new qualification aims to provide you with an in-depth understanding of the Police Service and will enable you to explore various areas of work within it. You will develop transferable skills that can be used in the workplace or applied in further study. These include: Leadership Skills, Police Powers, Terrorism Studies, Conflict Management, Teamwork, Crime Scene Investigation, Navigation, Physical Fitness, Discipline and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

The qualification is delivered by subject experts who have recently served in the Police to ensure that the content is relevant and meets the needs of employers. You will be exposed to Operational Police Officers, Armed Response, Dog Handlers, Mounted Branch as well as visit the Police HQ at Middlemoor.

Entry requirements

You will need GCSE Grade 4 in both English and Maths, or relevant Level 2 Functional Skills.

Assessment

Assessment is progressive throughout the programme using a range of practical skills, posters, presentations and assignments. Feedback will enable you to improve your grades. There are no final exams.

On completion you will be ready to progress onto our Policing Diploma (Year 2) and one step closer to your dream career.

Bicton College is based in East Devon, near Exeter, and set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just two miles from the Jurassic Coast. The historic Georgian mansion, commercial farm, animal husbandry school, modern veterinary nursing building, world-class engineering and heavy plant machinery workshop, walled garden and arboretum are all set in over 200 hectares of historic parkland.
