This course aims to deliver a comprehensive introduction to aquatic animal care aimed at those who are new to the subject or those who already have some experience but wish to further their knowledge. The course will be split into four sessions throughout the day, each focusing on a different area of aquatic husbandry. This Course has both theory and practical aspects to it. The primary focus of this course is on freshwater aquatic systems and not marine systems. Although these can be discussed if needed.

The course will explore subjects such as:

• Basic fish biology and common misconceptions
• Aquatic species, habitats and ecology
• Aquarium setup, design and maintenance
• Fish diseases and treatments

Tour of aquatics room at AHS at the end of the day

No entry requirements needed although some experience in aquatics would be advantageous.
