This course is ideal if you want a business-related career in one of the many exciting opportunities available in the equine industry. Jobs requiring skills such as management, marketing, finance or economic understanding that also necessitate in-depth knowledge of the equine industry. This course is designed to fit around your lifestyle, allowing a large proportion of distance learning.

If you’ve ever thought about working behind the scenes at Badminton horse trials, becoming an event manager at a major competition venue or perhaps even working for British Equestrian then this course is perfect for you. Combining business and equine modules, academic rigour and experience to equip graduates with the relevant skills to pursue their equine industry related employment.

The programme incorporates a robust foundation of business principles, a focus on developing technologies and specific equine-industry knowledge. A mix of business modules specifically designed for a business career with an equine specific focus, and substantial integrated work experience across both years provide a solid foundation of skills for graduates to successfully negotiate a career to create international equine business experts. You will also have the opportunity to complete industry recognised relevant qualifications alongside your course.

What you will learn

Delivery will include lectures, workshops, seminars, tutorials, distance learning and field practical work as appropriate for the module topic and context. You will have the opportunity to join industry partners to experience real-life commercial businesses to enhance your learning. Guest lecturers and offsite visits will be included where possible to bring additionality to the programme and enable you to hear from industry experts and provide networking opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to join National and International study tours.

Entry requirements

• 64 UCAS points from AS and A-Levels or relevant level 3 qualification, ie BTEC National Diploma / BTEC Extended Diploma - MPP Grades required).
• Access to HE Diplomas in a relevant subject - 45 credits at level 3 with at least 30 credits at Pass and 15 credits at Merit in an appropriate subject
• Minimum grade C/grade 4 in English and Maths
• Mature applicants with relevant experience but without standard qualifications will also be considered individually at interview.

The historic Georgian mansion, commercial farm, animal husbandry school, modern veterinary nursing building, world-class engineering and heavy plant machinery workshop, walled garden and arboretum are all set in over 200 hectares of historic parkland.
