Military and Protective Services (MaPS) students at Bicton College, part of The Cornwall College Group (TCCG), recently had an exclusive opportunity to meet with a local parliamentary candidate and showcase the impressive facilities on campus.
During the visit, David Reed, the Conservative MP candidate for Exmouth and Exeter East, explored the college grounds and engaged in conversations with students and staff from the MaPS programme.
As a former Royal Marines Commando, public service remains a cornerstone of his life. Expressing his enthusiasm, David said: “I was massively impressed to see the high level of teaching, and the dedication and commitment from the students. It’s reassuring to see so many young people interested in pursuing a career in service to our country. The college has fantastic industry links.”
For Curriculum Area Manager, Scott Lawson, the visit was “a great opportunity for the students to showcase their skills, abilities and dedication.”
“As a College, we strive to prepare our students for the next step in their chosen careers, delivering comprehensive lessons and top-quality training to ensure they are well-equipped for the future.”
“Witnessing the students put this training into practice and express their passion for military and protective services makes us immensely proud,” added Scott.
