This online course will provide you with a basic introduction into horse digestion and nutrition, looking at the importance of feeding for the health and wellbeing of the horse, and the factors that affect this.
It is a perfect course for those who have an interest in equine nutrition and are looking to expand their knowledge. The course will aim to answer many of the questions related to basic digestion, nutrition and feeding practices and why nutrition plays such an important part of horse management.
This course aims to give you a clearer understanding of equine nutrition, as well as practical advice on the nutritional requirements of the horse.
In this course, you will learn about:
• The anatomy of the horse's digestive system
• The importance of nutrients
• Assessing weight using body condition scoring
• Feed evaluation
• Factors to consider when feeding
• Modern feeding practice.
Please note: this course is suitable for applicants aged 19+
