Groundworker Apprenticeship
Groundworkers are the first trade onto a construction and civil engineering site ready for the structural building works to take place.
This apprenticeship will teach you all the skills, knowledge and behaviours to safely set out and prepare sub-surfaces ready for the structural work to begin, installing drainage systems, concreting, constructing roads and pathways and carrying out hard landscaping.
You will learn to work with all on-site construction trades, such as bricklayers and plant operatives, up to and including the final completion activities of the project.
What you will learn
On this apprenticeship you will learn about construction plant machinery and operation, Health, Safety and Sustainability, how to prepare sub-surfaces ready for structural work, installing drainage systems, concreting, constructing roads and pathways, traffic management, confined space work and utility service management. You will learn on the job with your employer as well as on our specialist construction site alongside industry partners.
