Course information
This course is an introduction to the suite of NPTC Certificates of Competence relating to chainsaws. On successful completion of the course you will receive a L2 Certificate in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting.
This is a 3 day course - 2 days training and an assessment on day 3 which takes around 3 hours.
Basic use and maintenance of the chainsaw
Current health and safety legislation and safety clothing (PPE) guidance
Fuel mixtures and lubricants
Power unit, safety features, recoil starter
Chain identification, bar maintenance, sharpening
Hot and cold start
Chainsaw handling and cutting techniques
Bicton College
