NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper (N204)
This NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper (N204) certification delivers the necessary skills, knowledge, and understanding to safely operate within industry. Specifically aimed at Plant Operators who require practical and theory-based training and assessment.
What you will learn
The course will provide knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
• Gaining a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and responsibilities as a plant operator.
• Learning a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used.
• Being able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions.
• Being able to locate and identify steering, driving and braking controls and explain their functions.
• Identifying and maintaining PPE appropriate for Forward Tipping Dumper use.
• Conducting all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements.
• Safely mounting and dismounting the machine.
• Starting and stopping the engine and safely moving the machine off and stopping it safely.
• Configuring the machine for travel and manoeuvring it safely across varying terrain in open and confined areas.
• Safe and best practice in performing specific loading and unloading tasks and operations.
• Manoeuvring the machine to the work area and correctly configuring in readiness to carry out Forward Tipping Dumper tasks.
• Carrying out Forward Tipping Dumper tasks.
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course. Prior experience will dictate how many training days are required.
Assessment
You will be practically assessed to NPORS standards on the Forward Tipping Dumper. There is also a theory question assessment.
Progression
Follow on courses include Construction Health and Safety and additional Plant Machinery tickets such as the 360 Excavator.
