Course information

Keeping chickens has become a popular past time for many people, particularly over the last year as more time is spent at home.

This course is great if you have recently bought some chickens or are thinking about buying some, or perhaps you would just like to learn about keeping your chickens.

You will learn how to choose the right type of chicken for your requirements, how to look after them ensuring their needs are met and they have good welfare and what type of environment they should be kept in.

This course will run from 10:30-16:30

This course is for those who are 19+ and who would like to learn the basics of keeping chickens.

This course will cover:

• Getting to know chickens -An introduction to them, their background and characteristics
• Getting Started – Which chickens should I choose?
• Getting Started - Your Set Up
• Housing and equipment, run space, bedding, hatching and incubation
• Caring For Your Hens - Feeding, routine care, daily feed requirements and what not to feed them

This course is for those who are 19+ and who would like to learn the basics of keeping chickens.
