Military & Protective Services students raise almost £4,000 for RNLI
Military and Protective Services (MAPS) students at Bicton College have raised a staggering £3,786 for RNLI Exmouth Lifeboat Station, well over their initial target of £2,300.
The students have successfully completed the grueling 4x4x48 challenge, created by former Navy Seal, David Goggins, which involves running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours, testing the endurance and resilience of the participants.
Despite the mental and physical challenges of the challenge, the MAPS team persevered and successfully completed the task, raising almost £4,000 for a local charity.
Reflecting on their achievement, the MAPS Team said, “This challenge was incredibly difficult, both mentally and physically and took you all way beyond your comfort zones.”
Support has been flooding in, Exmouth Fire Station extended their encouragement.
Study programme manager for Military & Protective Services Academy at Bicton College, Stuart Cavin, added “we all know just how much you have all worked towards this, through the pain and sacrifice, you’ve shown commitment to this endeavour.”
The MAPS team’s achievement is a testament to the resilience and determination of the military and protective services, and their commitment to supporting important causes in their community.
