Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting City & Guilds Certificate Level 2

This course is the introduction to the suite of NPTC Certificate of Competence chainsaw qualifications.

You will cover the following:

Basic use and maintenance of the chainsaw
Current health and safety legislation and safety clothing (PPE) guidance
Fuel mixtures and lubricants
Power unit, safety features, recoil starter
Chain identification, bar maintenance, sharpening
Hot and cold start
Chainsaw handling and cutting techniques

Please note that full payment for this course must be made at least 2 weeks before the course takes place. This is a 3 day course - 2 days training and 1 day assessment and is an introduction to the suote of NPTC Certificate of Competence chainsaw qualifications

Bicton College is based in East Devon, near Exeter, and set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just two miles from the Jurassic Coast. The historic Georgian mansion, commercial farm, animal husbandry school, modern veterinary nursing building, world-class engineering and heavy plant machinery workshop, walled garden and arboretum are all set in over 200 hectares of historic parkland.
